Universal Design

Universal Design is the umbrella term for teaching that is accessible for EVERYONE – by design – no special accommodations. This is an important topic now – especially as we get more and more hybridized. It includes teaching that is available to people with impairments that impact their experience in the classroom as well as people who are dominant in one mode of expression (i.e., visual) over another – and people who are both or neither. There is a lot of research about this – but not enough action. In fact – it would be really great if you know a lot about this and want to lead a discussion on it!!
